GRI Index

We aim to report our progress on material issues comprehensively and transparently. To do so, we follow the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), the leading framework for sustainability reporting and we continuously improve by including more quantitative objectives and indicators (both general and GRI related) in our annual CSR Report.

GRI sets the standards and develops reporting guidance to businesses and organisations so that they can understand and communicate the impact of their activities on critical sustainability issues.

Furthermore, we follow the Global Compact international guidelines in order to ensure an integrated performance of our reporting in terms of materiality, width and quality of data. Global Compact provides a principle-based framework and best practices about the way companies can do business responsibly and keep commitments to society.

The tables below show the correlation of the content of Reporting with the Principles of the Global Compact and the Factors and Indicators of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI-G4).

The coverage is determined on the basis of Full (F), Partial (P), Not Reported (NR) or Not Applicable (NA).

Dow Jones (DJSI)

Coca‑Cola HBC is the world sustainability leader in the beverage industry, topping the Dow Jones World and Europe Sustainability Indexes for beverage companies for three years in succession: in 2014, 2015 and 2016. We’ve been included in the DJSI every year since 2008 – recognition of our focus on continuously improving our sustainability performance. Launched in 1999, the DJSI is considered a global benchmark in corporate sustainability.

MSCI ESG ratings

In 2020, Coca-Cola HBC received the top “AAA” rating from the MSCI ESG for the sixth year in a row.

MSCI ESG rates companies across the world based on their exposure to industry specific ESG risks and their ability to manage those risks relative to peers.

FTSE4GOOD

Coca-Cola HBC have been included in the FTSE4Good Index Series since its set-up in 2000. In the last years, we have been rated with the highest score in the beverage industry.

The FTSE4Good Index Series is designed to identify companies that demonstrate strong environmental, social and governance practices measured against globally recognised standards.

CDP

In 2019, Coca-Cola HBC received a leadership score  and an “A” rating on CDP’s Climate and Water disclosures. In the past four years (since 2016), we  have been awarded with a leadership score on CDP Climate Disclosure and received an “A” rating on CDP Water Disclosure three times.

CDP’s annual environmental disclosure and scoring process are widely recognised as the gold standard of corporate environmental transparency.

A detailed and independent methodology is used by CDP to assess companies, allocating a score from A to D-, based on the comprehensiveness of disclosure, awareness and management of environmental risks and demonstration of best practices associated with environmental leadership, such as setting ambitious and meaningful targets.
