Donation of 1 million euros from the Coca-Cola HBC Foundation for the rehabilitation of fire-affected areas in Greece

Coca-Cola Tria Epsilon and Coca-Cola Hellas stood by the side of the affected people from the very first moment, supporting the efforts of firefighters, volunteers, and local communities.

The Coca-Cola HBC Foundation, in direct response to the devastating fires that hit Greece this summer, announces a grant of 1 million euros for the recovery of the affected areas. The grant will be made in coordination with the priorities to be determined by the relevant authorities and bodies, underlining the company's strong and long-standing ties with Greece.

This initiative is part of the Foundation's broader commitment to supporting local communities in times of crisis and is closely  aligned with Coca-Cola HBC's long-term vision  of creating shared value. At the core of this vision are sustainability and tangible support for communities, with the Foundation playing an active role in strengthening relief and rehabilitation actions, where the greatest need is identified.

During the first weeks of August, and as large fires raged in various areas of the country, Coca-Cola Tria Epsilon and Coca-Cola Hellas immediately mobilized to support local communities, their customers and partners. In coordination with NGOs, municipalities and the fire brigade, they delivered more than 15,300 cases of water AVRA, Fanta, Amita and Powerade, supporting both those responding on the front line and the people affected. These actions were made possible thanks to the dedication of the company's regional sales teams, who, with a strong sense of solidarity, provided close support to local partners and customers, coordinating immediate assistance.

The institutions that received support, in detail:

  • Chios: Hellenic Red Cross, Omicron Volunteer Forest Firefighters, Chios Fire Brigade
  • Patras & Achaia: Region of Western Greece, 6th Special Unit of Forestry Operations, Municipality of Western Achaia, Municipal Unit of Olenia, "Bright Star", Fire Brigade of Chalandritsa, 1st Fire Station of Patras
  • Kefalonia: Kefalonia Fire Department
  • Vonitsa: Municipality of Aktion – Vonitsa, Lefkada Fire Department
  • Filippiada: Municipality of Ziros, Fire Department of Filippiada
  • Preveza: Municipality of Preveza, Preveza Fire Department, Thesprotiko Fire Brigade

In the preparedness for the fire season, Coca-Cola Tria Epsilon and Coca-Cola Hellas had already donated more than 4,500 cases of products to NGOs, including the Hellenic Red Cross, Humanity Greece and the National Volunteer Coordination Center - Help Hellas, strengthening the humanitarian aid mission and the support of firefighters in the field.

Our thoughts are with those affected by the devastating fires. At Coca-Cola Tria Epsilon and the entire Coca-Cola HBC Group, we feel a deep responsibility to stand by our local communities, customers and partners. Deeply rooted in Greece for 56 years, our enduring presence and our wide local footprint of our local production plants, local suppliers, partners and thousands of businesses in our value chain, has shaped a steadfast commitment to the resilience of our communities and to the natural environment that sustains us all. Through the immediate actions that have already taken place and the significant donation of the Foundation, we remain committed to supporting the restoration efforts, as we did after the fires of August 2021, contributing to the restoration of the Varibobi area together with Coca-Cola Hellas, always guided by our goal of creating a better, common future.
