Coca-Cola Tria Epsilon and AB Vassilopoulos join forces with "Aegean Rebreath" for the protection of the marine environment

The first joint voluntary action was implemented in the Municipality of Markopoulo

Coca-Cola Tria Epsilon and AB Vassilopoulos, as part of their broader partnership aiming to create a positive environmental footprint, support the "Together for Clean Seas and Coasts" program implemented by "Aegean Rebreath". Through this program, actions are being implemented to protect the marine environment and increase environmental awareness in the Municipalities of Markopoulo, Lefkada and Kasos.

In this context, the first joint voluntary action of Coca-Cola Tria Epsilon and AB Vassilopoulos took place on September 23, at Chamolia beach in the Municipality of Markopoulo, with the participation of 30 employees-volunteers. With the aim of protecting the coastal ecosystem, the volunteers were informed about the importance of the action and proceeded with coastal cleaning, collecting a total of 22 bags of waste.

At the same time, the actions of the program extend below the surface of the sea. The specialized team of divers of "Aegean Rebreath" carried out underwater cleanups in Porto Rafti and Kasos, removing from the seabed almost 4,000 pieces of waste, including recyclable materials such as plastic, metal, glass and paper, as well as 1 ton of abandoned fishing nets, freeing the local ecosystem from hazardous materials, to substantially enhance the protection of marine biodiversity.

In addition to field interventions, the program includes consultation with the local community and educational activities for students, enhancing the information and environmental awareness of local communities. 

Our first joint voluntary action with AB Vassilopoulos highlights the power of cooperation. Together with "Aegean Rebreath", we actively contribute to the protection of the Greek seas and coastal ecosystems. For us, at Coca-Cola Tria Epsilon, caring for the environment is not just a commitment, but a daily priority that comes to life through the active participation of our people and the support of local communities.

The program is a prime example of what can be achieved when local government, society and the private sector work together with a common vision. Through our collaboration with Coca‑Cola Tria Epsilon and AB Vassilopoulos, we are implementing actions that contribute to the protection of the marine environment and the awareness of local communities. The problem of marine pollution requires the participation of all of us, as well as integrated solutions. In this context, we are proceeding with the implementation of expanded actions in areas of the “Blue Municipalities” Network, strengthening the collective effort for cleaner seas.
